Teaching and Training

If you want your staff or clients to be well qualified and able to work on their own, you can’t skimp on their training.

Postal Service Training and Development Institute – Over the years I wrote numerous training films, slide presentations, and filmstrips used for teaching Postal Service workers how to operate the many machines in a Regional Sectional Center.

Federal Disaster Assistance Administration – I was tasked with training the agency’s Federal Coordinating Officers on techniques of dealing with the public and the news media in disaster situations.

DOE/Head Start – I wrote, produced, and narrated a series of filmstrips used to teach Head Start instructors.

American Red Cross – I wrote scripts for films used to recruit blood donors and train Red Cross Staff involved in disaster recovery.

Roy Jorgenson Associates – I scripted and produced slide/filmstrip training presentations on highway construction and highway signage. On completion I had the productions translated into Portuguese and distributed in Brazil.

Photography Workshops – For many years I put on a series of multi-day Photographic Workshops around the country featuring talks and critiques by famous photographers with whom I had come to know.

Texas Tech University – I produced and directed several instructional television series and taught Public Speaking, Photojournalism, and Television Production.

University of Texas at Austin – In addition to managing the four campus closed-circuit television channels and producing numerous instructional series on subjects as diverse as Music Appreciation, Chemistry, and 20th Century Spanish Literature, I taught Basic Television Production and Advanced Television Directing

Bowling Green State University – I served as Director of Instructional Television and Director of Special Projects winning numerous awards for production excellence.

University of Maryland – I taught a senior level course in Television News Production.

The American College – I taught courses in Life Insurance, Annuities, and Salesmanship
